National
Body of the Black Men's Exchange
(NBBMX) is a nation-wide (USA) support, empowerment,
advocacy and affirmation organization created to embrace, affirm and heal
same-gender-loving (SGL) and bisexual males of African descent. NBBMX
addresses issues concerning SGL, bisexual and questioning youth, young
adult and adult males. Founded in 1989, BMX was born and raised in the
Black community, built on a philosophy that embraces SGL Sisters (through
the Women's Xchange) and Brothers as an everyday aspect of Black life.
Integral to BMX's philosophy is the understanding that affective ways to
decrease internal and external "homophobic" thinking, and to demystify
differences regarding diverse ways of living, loving, making love and
being loved, is for SGL, bisexual and transgendered people of
african decent to be present, supportive and in dialogue with each other
and the community.

Silent pride
The first Mr
Black Gay UK, Stephen Anglin, tells Emma Lindsey about prejudice in his
community.
"In the black community, it remains a massive taboo.
Homosexuality is viewed as "the white man's disease"
which sufferers should keep to themselves."
